you. we have earnings coming in from oracle. jo ling kent what do the numbers look like? >> dave, we have an 87 cents per share eps which is exactly as expected. $10.95 billion which is a miss on revenue. breaking down numbers a little bit, we see a quarterly revenue of $849 million. what is interesting, new software license revenues were up 1.4% to 4 billion. they were expecting to see this go from, between 1 and 11% that is certainly on the low end. that is a very important area for oracle to grow especially if other companies get into this market. david: i want to go back to todd. we have a lot of news to cover i don't want to focus on any one stock but does this tell you anything about oracle? >> this is common throughout the entire earnings season. miss on the top line. that is the whole story. oracle looks pretty good chartwise. with the current market conditions it will probably sell off a little bit. david: todd, sticking with you for a second, john touted financials a terrible day for financials, one of the worst-hit sectors. let's talk about housing for a second. housing wa

let's continue to talk about the individual stocks that are going the rule the day, and oracle down sharply in premarket, and the company reporting a fourth quarter revenue miss with the software and revenues come ing ing in lo. and meanwhile, they are reporting they will double the quarter dividend to 12 cents a share, and will switch listing from the nasdaq to right here at the nyse. so they miss on the software sales on the last two quarters and yet larry ellison is promising something startling in the cloud this week. >> well, there was some talk of them and microsoft doing something. this is one that the travel trust gave up last night. just gave up. >> wow. and it did endorse the thesis that europe is bottoming an turning. i will say that, europe is better. they have that going on. >> and the reason they endorse is when they beat the revenues. this is disappointing quarter and sell it for the charitable trust and threw in the towel. there are enough companies doing well. >> with oracle, there was weakness in china and across, and what does that mean? u.s. was fine and in line.

modi is tracking, at least for a few more days, the big moves in oracle? >> that's right. oracle is now responsible for the nasdaq 100's entire loss today, and it's not just oracle's lackluster earnings that are disappointing the street. an analyst says oracle's tans fer from the nasdaq to the new york stock exchange could pressure shares between now and july 5th which is the date that oracle makes the switch. oracle has a 4.7% waiting on the index. leading the qqq would result in 15 million shares going up for sale and in terms of which company will take the spot of oracle and the nasdaq 100, alta vista research says it probably won't be a technology firm given the slowing growth that we've seen in this sector. now, other large-cap tech stocks trading lower today, extending losses from yesterday's selloff. however, a couple of tech names rebounding in today's trade specifically from the semiconductor space and take a look at facebook shares, shares moving higher after getting a thumbs up after its introduction to video instagram. tyler and sue. >> seema modi, thanks very much. we p

day. oracle oracle the biggest problem, still under pressure. s&p 500 finishes higher, although it gives up much of an earlier rally, up 4.50 at the end. oracle was the worst performing s&p 500 stock today. it was the worst performer. and that certainly dragged down the averages. bob, everybody on this floor has to feel like, hey, it's tgif after a week like this. >> and everybody wanted last night a fairly quiet day. and the fireworks were all at the open. we are a quadruple witching expiration. huge volume. this is one of the biggest volume days. we'll do 5 billion easily. moved to the downside and then turned around. a narrower trading range. 150, 160 points on the dow. we've been doing 200, 300-point trading ranges. interest rate sensitive stocks, rolling through a couple of sectors. a horrible week, but a nice bounce-back. utility, reits, telecom stocks, all up a little bit on -- telecom moving up fractionally. emerging markets, some of them down 15%, 16% in the last couple of weeks. thailand, south africa, india, turkey, all bounced nicely today. i got a lot of questions abou

. technology is the weakest there. oracle oracle not necessarily helping that out. pr still fairly defensive in telecoms. best sector performers. big jump up in bond yields across the region. spanish yields up 7% to 4.85. a little lower today. 4.79. gilt yields continue to climb higher, 2.33. that's the highest since march 2012. you mention eed greece. big discussion split in the broadcaster. reports greece is facing a funding crisis, denied by david lipton of the imf to us. bund yields also higher. all driven, of course, of what happens to u.s. treasury yields as well. a quick reminder where we tand stand on the currencies front. clearly the aussie today rebounded from a 33-month low. dollar a little bit weaker. yesterday on the yen 98.29. euro/dollar not moving an awful lot. what we are seeing is a lot of people have burroed euro and yen to invest in emerging markets. they sold out of their positions. one of the reasons why yen and europe haven't been sold off an awful lot even as the dollar has apreesh yapted among emerging market currencies. >> we are watching everything happen
